To anyone familiar with the massively multiplayer role
playing game genre, Atriarch will be at once shockingly
foreign and a refreshing breath of originality. The first
time the Editors at Stratics saw this game we were immediately
intrigued by what it proposed: To create a world where
everything was alive and interlinked as part of a massive
"Gaia Theory" style experiment.
At its core, Atriarch is built around five unique player
controlled species. Yes, you heard right... this is not
a game where life forms are similar enough to be called
races, not quite, in Atriarch the life forms are so massively
different that in many respects they don't even seem to
have evolved from the same basic life forms.
The Cavalon
are masters of Atriana's lush plant life.
The Cavalon are masters of plant
life. These green thumbed beings resembling a genetic
hybrid between Starcraft's Protoss and your local
High School football field are not the average tree-hugging
hippies. In Atriana, plants can actually be used as
weapons. In a land where everything is alive, this
could be a major advantage. By contrast, The Unarra
are masters of the beasts of the world - another deadly
advantage given the breadth of creatures on this planet.
Other races have more subtle powers. The exploratory
Lokki have an innate sense of space and have mapped
the globe, making them valuable and resourceful
friends. Aparently they are masters of trade to
go with it - a strong combination. In a world where
player interaction is so important that factions
(guilds) can build their own cities, the hulking
Eshlar are master architects. Finally, the insidious
Tyrussin have no special powers that we can discern
and have learned to survive through combat and superior
weaponry.
Lokai Explorers
have explored and mapped the entire planet.
The game engine itself is still in alpha testing and
advanced textures have only recently been applied. The
artist's renderings, of which there are plenty, give us
a more true-to-vision idea of what Atriarch will look
like upon completion. Between the rapid progress being
made on the game's engine (it's almost up to par with
the artist's renderings) and the amazing concepts behind
it, this title is destined to become a classic and World
Fusion a major player in the MMORPG market.
Welcome to
the Lokai capitol city of Orescent
Impressed by the devotion and visionary thinking
of Atriarch's development team, we launched Atriarch
Stratics (ATS) as a way to help bring fans of this
project closer to the developers. Our mission is
not only to serve as the ultimate resource for Atriarch
but to play a vital role in the
continued development of the game and its features
as well.
We now invite you to continue your tour of Atriarch.
This rich, lush world has to be seen to be believed.
